1. The military occupation of NATO in Afghanistan is more and more civilian casualties: the only way to stop to kill it is to simply leave the country?
AFGHANISTAN
In two years, the Taliban insurgency has spread to almost the entire country.
Afghans live in fear of attacks, and those working for the coalition or receive support fear of reprisals.
The number of civilian casualties recent show, for all those who doubted that this is a war against the large population of Afghanistan, and the only way to stop killing civilians is to stop the killing.
This means to stop all offensive actions and withdraw the troops.
In Afghanistan, the number of civilian casualties continues to rise.
Tuesday at least eight people died after a bomb exploded in the provincial capital Lashkar Gah in southern, in the midst of a major U.S. offensive in the region.
Local officials said those killed in the attack were civilians.
Meanwhile, the government of Afghanistan has condemned an air attack on a NATO convoy on Sunday that killed twenty-seven civilians, including four women and a child.
Commander General of NATO, Stanley McChrystal went on television Afghan apologize for the attack, and Defense Secretary Robert Gates has promised a thorough investigation ... but all this by accusing the Taliban of using, quote, "civilians as a shelter."
The thing to remember is that we are at war.
We do our best.
But it is also a fact that the Taliban mingle with civilians, they use them for cover,
which obviously complicates any decision process of a commander on the ground whether he is dealing with the Taliban or innocent civilians, or a combination of both.
this sort of thing in many respects, are inherent in a war.
is what makes war so ugly.
Last year was the deadliest in the Afghan war for civilians and foreign troops.
And although there are no reliable numbers on the number of Afghans killed,
the war in Afghanistan has also surpassed the American Revolution in the period to become the second longest war in American history, to eight years, four months and sixteen days.
Obama has twice caused the escalation of the war since taking office, first by pledging to send 17,000 soldiers a year ago, then 30,000 additional troops in December.
The war in Afghanistan will not bring security to Afghans. It will not turn Afghanistan into a democracy.
This is especially true for a war of occupation of another country,
if you do not know the key players, you do not know the culture, you do not have good information, and you participate in a Civil War from someone on another land,
all that will inevitably contribute to terrible results.
The number of Afghan civilians .. again, at least fifty just this week, just in this new offensive Marjah in southern Afghanistan.
the only way to stop killing civilians is to stop the killing.
This means to stop all offensive actions to stop and withdraw the troops to stop firing drones.
is the only way to put an end to civilian casualties.
We do not know the exact totals significantly large number of Afghan civilians who were killed in this war.
The exit strategy must start with ending the slaughter.
There must be a unilateral ceasefire
this is not a situation where one can simply say, "Oh, we will withdraw the troops, then it's over. "
We need to reconnect with Afghanistan in a different way than has been done so far.
We need to look at development assistance , seriously
The Taliban must be involved in these negotiations because they represent a population component and a component of power, especially
For when we are serious in our intention to end the war, negotiations must bring everybody to the table.
True, like everyone else, I do not like what the Taliban represent.
But if we look at who the U.S. supports these warlords who are suddenly our friends, they are no better.
considering the situation of Afghan women, after eight years, almost nine years of U.S. military occupation
They face a higher level of maternal mortality, which means that more Afghan women die in childbirth than anywhere else in the world.
And just a month ago, UNICEF, United Nations Fund for Children, said that in their new assessment, Afghanistan was now the worst place on earth to an unborn child.
